auto tranmission cooler hose broke all fluid leaked out...
Just like the title said, I was using temporary hoses until I could get the three I need for the transmission cooler hose from majestic honda and while driving the hose broke and all the fluid leaked out. The hoses I was using were essentially some type of bulk vacuum hoses. It essentially wouldn't grab it would just rev so I immediately threw it into neutral and coasted and parked it somewhere safe. I'm gonna go change the hoses tomorrow, paying for the dealer(stealer) prices but my question is, what are the odds the transmission is messed up now or since I caught it fast is the fluid leaking out my only problem until I can get the hoses replaced tomorrow? I'm not at all an auto tranny guy. This is my first auto transmission car.

I'm sure a little damage was done but I doubt you killed it. 3~4 years and about 70K miles ago the OE hose blew on the 95 EX. More than likely part of the rad change about six months prior.
Anyway, get trans cooler hose. Might have to call NAPA or CARQUEST or some place like that, the Advance close to my house tried passing fuel line off to me and I refused, only use hose designed for trans coolers. Once you replace the hose(s), you are going to need lots of fluid. I only use the Z1 from Honda, not starting a debate just my preference.
Should be ok from there. I would suggest a drain and fill change in a few miles after the repairs, just to be sure.
PS- The 95 had about 290K on it when this happened, she has over 362K on it now.

Thanks for the response. I got some trans cooler hose from this place called Vic Hubbards. Then I just cut to fit it. Honda doesn't stock the hose, I couldn't wait til Tuesday to get it from their warehouse, and no single auto parts store carries it as a part. Only Vic Hubbards even had cooler which I think is strange. I would think more auto stores would atleast stock the cut to fit type like Hubbards. After throwing it back together and filling it up, it seems to fine. I guess all that had happened was the clutches couldn't work since they didn't have any fluid. There doesn't appear to be any damage, thus far atleast. I did manage to put a little too much. I'm gonna have to take off a cooler hose at an easy spot and let some leak out tomorrow or maybe just put in some brake bleed hose I got and just finger over the top to extract.

Edit: I only find one store left when I google it.

This happened to my 96 accord 2 years ago-- hose broke, lost all fluid and tranny wouldn't shift out of first. Replace the hose and refill... ours is still OK 2 years later, we've got ~210k miles on the original trans and it shifts beautifully.
Good luck
Good luck
Ya, I actually had the right amount of fluid, I guess it was just the lighting on the dipstick. After a few days of driving everything seems to be as good as ever.
Given that autos work on hydraulics I guess worst thing that happens is your car just won't shift. Even so, if this ever happens to anyone I would suggest throwing it into neutral asap like I did just to be on the safe side.
