I have been driving my civic for a week now. it is a powerhouse for the first 10 min and as soon as she warms up and throws the EGR code Then It has no power at all! I have been told the EGR does not affect your cars performance but it is a very noticeable power loss I feel Like im driving my gsr again cuz I have no torque at all. Is there any truth to this claim? Oh BTW I have the EGR blocked off.

 

Bump! Come on Guys I know there has got to be someone with some input here.

 

A clogged EGR system can cause big performance problems. Clean the valve and IM chamber.

thanks RonJ@HT do you know if the ECU runs in limp mode when the EGR is blocked off? I'm just waiting for my p72 to be chipped then I don't have to worry cuz it wont check for it. Oh thanks project93hatch hows the gauge cluster working for ya bro?

If your running obd1 you can block off egr and wont throw check engine light because obd1 doesnt look for egr.

 

yeah I have it blocked and Im running an OBD1 P13 and it doesnt throw the cod until the EGR needs to be activated, when the car is fully warmed up. so IDK I'll just wait til I get my P72 chipped and tuned.
