What can I do to make my 98 prelude launch faster
Well I just brought a prelude not that long ago and I've been getting smoked by stock b18 ls integras with like 160000 miles on them lol(my freinds cars)well anyways my car has a rebuilt motor and on the paper work it says aem cam gears were installed also exedy stage 1clutch fidnza fly wheel aem pulleys, catback exaust..it's really not pulling to hard on first and second gear and I'm just trying to see if there's anything k can do to change that with out spending Alot of money.maybe an aftermarket intake??
Alot of people (some intgra owners as well) are saying that my prelude should be the one smoking integras
Idk all the help i can get from u guys is appreciated

If your car is mechanically sound and making typical power:
1) Learn to drive better.
2) Learn to react better.
Failing that:
3) Get more traction (better tires, better suspension, LSD)
4) Turbo
5) Is it an automatic? Ditch that for more, and shorter, gears for better acceleration
6) Disconnect the fuel pump fuse on the Integra you are about to race.
The first two are key and aren't meant to be complete insults. If drag racing were really as easy as just mashing the gas and going then everyone would be equal assuming equal cars, right? Truth is that's not how it is.

Lol on the automatic jokes
But it is a manual and I'm thinking that it must of been my fault but if this helps
I was switching gears at 6500-7000 rpms

short throws shifters help too...after you get used to it and learn how to shift and keep it above 6800 and in vtec range, your in there......and as far as launching dont run 4 grand and drop the clutch and mash it...ull jus spin your tires....i usually pull off at about 3000 depending on conditions to keep traction and actually pull the car.....gradually drop the pedal(dont floor it)...till you hit vtec...and keep n there....thats wher all my horses are anyways.

Get your car tuned it will help. All of those aftermarket parts you have aren't really doing anything until you tune your car anyway. And you can get 2-step launch so you have a perfect launch every time. I have the same motor and i rev to 7800 that is just when it stops making power.

And as far as tuning a few people looked at me crazy when I brought that subject up one time because they was like you dont even have any major parts in your car to get it tune.I'm also guessing there wrong too.right?
Also what kind/brand of 2step launch would yall recommend?
1st off go to a 1/4 track. and do a few run, Run 1st gear to 8k rpm 2nd gear to 7800 rpm then the rest to 7400... If you are loosing to LS integra then somthing is messed up with your H22 or you dont know how to race.... 2nd off dont race on street before you kill your self.

yeah like the basic light "mods" ppl do are
*short ram intakes
*short throw shifter
*some delete the ac pump
*header back exhaust def helps(and pls dont jus have pipes hanging......header, down pipe, cat, catback...makes a difference
*and for some reason ppl put stage clutches n....if you do that i wouldnt do puck unless its strictly race application. theyre a hassle everyday)
etc etc

smaller wheels, hoosier slicks, lose weight. How fast are you racing to? More top end power isnt always a good thing when you sacrifice the precious little torque these engines make to get there.
Good suspension setup will help your launch. Street slicks if its just a daily driver, drag slicks if your 1/4 mile. Launching at the right rpm shifting at the right rpm should get you a long way 1st and 2nd gear might be pretty close against the integra because any 4 cylinder 1st to 2nd are pretty close but you will definatly pull away in 2nd and 3rd. Practice driving skills maybe.
If your worried about beating a stock Integra, than its time to go home.
Your mods are pretty worthless, and an intake is even more worthless.
Like said before, go practice your launches and if you really want a little bit of extra uhm for like 500 bucks, go buy a nitrous kit, and dont tell your friends you got it.

Actually, an 8.3l V10 viper swap in the prelude would make you launch pretty fast, I think you would be smoking b16 swapped civics.
And the engine bolts right in.
