Default Crx B18 turbo project from accross the pond

Alrite guys and gals, my name is Ben and stay in Scotland. I am mad about mk2 crx's as you can tell and this is my long term project. Currently driving a JDM n/a mr2 which is keeping me amused but looking forward to getting this on the road

Bought my crx a wee while ago and it looked like this on the day I picked it up

It was pretty much standard when I got it minus a few little bits and peices, but it went downhill fast from that moment on

One thing led to another and it has been completely stripped down to be completely restored /improved.

I have changed my mind a million times and have bought and sold on bits as new ideas have popped up.

The original plan was to keep the original b16 and turbo it, I bought a B18C civic to break for spares and decided to go down the N/A route after a lot of thinking and changing I peiced together everything and rebuilt it with new oem honda everything and the added bang of some Jun2 cams, omni power valve train skunk2 cam gears, S2 inlet and 70mm T/B, excedy clutch, fidanza flywheel. and here how it sat once complete on the engine stand;

Changed my mind again and have swapped out the Jun cams and replaced them with some C4 cams and have begun peicing together a turbo kit to whack on the engine and reap the rewards of some boost. The turbo i'm using is from a Gtir and is very well suited to the B series engine and some mates of mine have had very good results on stock b16's so the b18 should be a nice improvement.

During this time the rest of the car has changed dramaticly.

The seats have been replaced from some mint Evo 3 recaros

Replaced the wheels for a set of sparco Tarmacs but then changed my mind and bought some 4x114 Te37's which meant a hub swap so was a good time to fit some extended studs and try and fit some 300mm ATR twin pots under the 15 inch volks

Sorted the chassis out with some meister R coilovers, whiteline rear arb, camber adjusted and a traction bar for the front. Just received a shed load of polybushes to replace every bush on the car.

I then fitted a cluter from a UK spec integra and changed my mind again and have gone for an s2000 cluster

The engine bay has been completely stripped and every hole welded up and smoothed off, still needs some work but is getting there. Loom has been completely tucked with the fuse box relocated to the glovebox. Carbon bonnet and fibreglass wings, Sir rear bumper and J's racing front lip

This is a very condensed thread but you get the idea, plan is to to finish converting it to obd1 and start at the front and work my way back cutting out any rust and replacing with fresh metal, get engine bay finished and painted, get the b18 in and running then stick the boost parts on. Final move with be a complete baremetal respray for the finishing touch Considering stripping the engine back down to forge it but not 100%, no rush to get the car on the road so may aswell head for perfection

Any comments or critisim is welcomed.

Cheers. Ben

Thanks guys, hoping to get the cluster wired up and fitted over the winter, got loads of other bits to do first before I sort out the wiring etc, want to get the chassis rust free and sealed up and do a tintop roof conversion while I have the welder out Over here all UK spec crx's came with sunroofs which isn't the best when our weather is so rubbish lol.

Cheers, Ben

I like looking at oem b-series 2g crxs/4g civics. Anyone notice the parts that interchange with a 2g integra?

Sorry can't help you with that one mate,

Decided to build up a forged B18 to make the most out of the turbo, just on the lookout for some low comp 81.5mm pistons now

It's not about help... If you look at the frame rails in a oem b series 2g/4g you will see a significant difference from the oem d series cars.
