Default B18C1 camshafts on an B16A?

I am buying a JDM B16A (OBD-0) motor and plan to mildly build the motor for better performance using OEM Honda/Acura parts. I already have a USDM B18C1 motor.

Would I see any gains by swapping the B18C1 camshafts into the B16A?

What other bolt-on parts are compatible that would increase the B16As performance?

...BTW I am only aiming for around 160-170whp tuned with Neptune

Not worth it...if you had the ctr/itr i would say maybe but even those arent really worth it.

gsr cams are cheap and u will see gains. but it wont be much. so i guess it depends on budget, ITR/CTR cams will prolly give u best bang for buck. but don't neglect valve train.

bolt ons? I/H/E a good header is a must for all motor builds.

160-170 wont be hard to get, itr cams and valve train. I/H/E with a good header and a good tuner should get you pritty close.

If you already have a B18C1, then why are you getting a B16?

I might actually sell the GSR cams and purchase ITR cams instead. From the sounds of it I will get much better power through out the entire RPM range. Plus, since I work for Honda I get a good discount on all OEM Honda/Acura parts

you will also need the ctr/itr springs and retainers for the ctr/itr cams. and at that point you might as well look into supertech springs and retainers and some real cams like the skunk2 tuner 2's

I have the B18C1 installed in my turbo-charged EG Civic hatchback. The B16A will be going into my daily driven 91 DA9 Integra.

I did not even think about the springs and retainers

I have thought about going the aftermarket route for my B16A, but I would rather put that money towards building the B18C1.

I might as well use the GSR cams since they will just be lying around the house.

If you're redoing the valvetrain I would go skunk2 tuner1 cams with supertech retainers/valves/springs and seals. Will give you alot more power than oem itr valvtrain. Plus supertech is very reliable.

If this was a turbo discussion then yes, i could see a 10-20whp gain from swapping cams.. but it isn't.. dont even bother,..go aftermarket or leave it alone.

I have GSR cams in my b16a they are bit better then the stock b16a cams for power but i also have the GSR Head P72-2 on my b16a so gave me a bump in Static Comp Ratio from 10:2.1 to 10:6.1 so that help a bit to.
