Default Trouble with airscoop cover Plastic Clips help.. :(

I have a 1997 DC. Okay In trying to replace my windshield wiper motor, I couldn't even get the airscoop off.
The circle 2 piece clips more towards the windshield I had no trouble at all removing.

however the rectangle like clips that are near the firewall are a Bi$% and i don't understand how to remove them without breaking them. Do you need a special tool or what? i tried prying them and they wont budge unless i break them..

Here is a picture of what im talking about

any help suggestions? I know ppl have to take these out all the time and replace the motor. But how??? I had 3 eks and 1 DC and never had to deal with the rectangle type clips before....

I can usually get them out by squeezing the bottom of the clips with needle nose pliers and pulling up with my panel clip removal tool. Some of them are just PITA's and need to be replaced anyway.
