Default bringing a CRX back to life

So let me start off by saying this is going to be a very slow build, In the beginning it won't really be much of an actual build as much as it will be a repair. I bought it from a kid in jersey for 800 bucks. It's an HF, run's hard but the alternator seized so i had my brother drive it home for me with 2 fully charged battery's lol. What a ****ing day that was.

DETAILS: So the kid that had it before me crashed it, Nothing big but it need's a hood fender bumper and headlight (with corner). The interior is spray painted red, Didn't even do a good job. Glove box doesn't stick, Had broken neon's under the dash (plastic?). and the seats had these ugly tacky *** red and black covers on them with matching floor mats. And got paint on the windows cause i guess the dash was still installed when he painted it.

SO FAR: I got a bumper, bumper support, headlight's (that broke cause I'm an idiot. More on this later), New center console, New alternator w/belt,

When i brought it home i right away took the front end off for replacement. Next morning i started putting the new one, Could not get the new bumper support to line up because the bumper support brackets on the passenger side were a little bent. After a whole day of trying to force it me and my friend decided to just try putting the old support on it was all ****ed up but it worked fine, and we ripped off the damaged areas of it. But during all of that i managed to break my passenger headlight with a hammer while knocking at the brackets trying to put them into place. Awesome. So i put the old ricey one's on by taking parts off of the new ones, worked pretty good. Put in the new center console. Flipped over the ugly floor mats, Put a new cd player in (needs to be wired still). Got rid of those covers on the seats and started replacing the alternator.

PROBLEM WITH ALTERNATOR: Bottom nut would not come off, it was insanely stripped. It took me 4 day's to finally get it off i had to go buy the special sockets and even after that it took my 3 hours. THEN, The through bolt that the nut was connected to would not push through, It's been over a week now and i still can't get it off. I tried everything. So then i was like **** it I'll take off the entire bracket. Well that bolt wouldn't come off either. SOOOO As of today I'm cutting it off with a grinder, At 5 i am going to buy one. Cut it off then return it lol. And then finally putting the new one on. Changing all of the fluids, Throwing a few caps of Sea Foam in the tank and letting that bitch idle for like 6 hours lol.

PLANS: Just to get started, I'm repainting the entire interior with "SEM" THE RIGHT WAY! Getting rid of the only rust on the car which is the driver side QP (in picture below). Getting the rest of the parts for my front end. sanding down and touching up the whole body and throwing a few coats of primer on top (the white looks good in the pics but its a mess). Throwing on some some rim's and suspension then saving some more money.

FUTURE PLANS: So after everything above and i save some money and going LS/Vtec turbo with a fully shaved bay and painted car inside and out. JDM front end. And everything else in between.

I want it to be nice, and i want it to be fast as ****. Not a fan of all motor =p (no hate).

PICS:

Rust.

Bumper and headlight are lined up as of now. The picture is when i was having trouble.

He got paint on the cluster, windows, and steering wheel.

testing the new cd player.

The now bottom of the floor mats lol.

Paint on the shift boot.

The awesome pedals he installed that caught both mine and my brothers shoe laces while driving.

And this my good friends is how you light a good cigar .

More pictures of it tomorrow when i wash it and it's driving.

Wish me luck guys. It's my 1st Honda

I do. Is there something wrong with me working on my car in pajama pants? And stopping to smoke a cigar?

I'm out here trying to get this alternator off right now...But this grinder is to big for the space. I swear this is the car from hell. For the past 2 weeks every attempt I've had at removing this thing has failed. For what feels like no reason.

UPDATES:

New center is in. still need to replace the white, Shift boot and shift ****. I wrapped the *** in batting tape it was so ugly. That wire in the background was to the "neon's" Not sure where he wired it yet that's why it's just sitting there.

Front end is getting there. I'm a little more concentrated on the other stuff since i don;t have all the parts for this yet.

This is what happened when i was originally trying to break that nut loose. When i put the socket for stripped nuts on it gripped real good but was so tight i had to put all my body weight into it. Well when it finally broke loose i went flying forward and smashed my face into my fender. This is the result.

This is what i have cut into on the alternator. Since the grinder was to big to ge into the spot i wanted i had to cut the bracket to get there. I'm still having trouble but as time goes on a little but more of this ****ing thing comes off.

The 1st cut.

And the sweet space i have to work with. The alternator is ight above that yellow line.

Any ideas on this alternator issue would be appreciated.

Easiest thing to do i found when trying to get a alternator out from the bottom is to jack the car up, put it on stands, break the axle nut loose 33 if i remember right or 32.. its big. while its on the ground. witht the tire still on. then jack it up and support it. take the driver side knuckle assembly apart, 1 castle nut on the top to the upper control arm, one on the lower control arm(might get away with sliding the axle out of the hub, without taking this nut off) one castle nut on the tie rod end. With the axle out of the hub, you pop it out of the trans if you like. but sometimes isnt needed.

this is how i do it, because its the easiest way i know how, i fought with my brothers Da INTEGRA FOR 2 HOURS trying just to wiggle the dam alternator out. Then finally did this. and was done in 30-40 minutes.

i hope this helps

I was on my way to doing exactly this. But i tried one last thing 1st. Took the guard off the grinder. It fit perfect, Thanks to a friends help.

DONE!

So now all i need is a new bracket and the car is running.

In the mean time I'll be replacing all the fluids and throwing some Sea Foam in the tank. And taking some paint thinner to that interior! If the thinner does not work I'm taking out the dash out and sanding it off, then priming and then painting it with "SEM". As well as the back. But I'll be replacing the door panels all together since they are vinyl.

Still looking for parts for this front end though. People think there CRX parts are worth a fortune.

UPDATES:
So these are my ricey *** headlights.

These are my ricey *** headlights next to my broken OEM headlights...I'm sure you can see where this is going.

You can see the torch in the background, That's what i was going to use to remove the lens one each light but it was to strong.

So i resorted to breaking the back off of the lens on the ricey headlight and breaking the glass off of the back on the OEM headlight.

Then stuck them together and took all of the rubber adhesive from the ricey headlight and stuck it in between the lens and the light, then heated it with the torch and let it dry.

Don't have any pics of them on the car yet but you can barley notice the difference between it and then non broken OEM.
