Icon2 Radiator issue

Hey, i am a new user and i just registered today. I drive a 93 accord lx with 96k miles on it. I just went out to my car after class and noticed a puddle of what seemed to be antifreeze under my car. I had the car over at my local mechanic last night while i was at work and they basically said i have a leak in the radiator. Now what concerns me is do i have to replace the entire radiator? They just said it was leaking from the radiator. They didn't say anything about hoses or anything. Oh and it was up in the front near the hood latch and its leaking from the passenger side of the car. The reservoir is almost bone dry and they just flushed and filled it up last night. Any kind of help would be most appreciated.

The Honda radiator is made with plastic and metal and usually develops a crack near the top. See this link:

http://techauto.awardspace.com/overheating.html

Although the link shows how to repair it if it is that hairline crack, most people just replace the radiator. There is also a chance another part of the radiator may have just corroded instead of a leak at the top area.

Up to you though, if it is the hairline crack and you can't spend the money on a new radiator right now, then you might try to fix it like how the link shows it.

thanks for the link and the info. i am going to try and drive it to my mechanic today after my last class...i hope i get there. Should i bring some water with me just in case it starts to overheat again? If so should i put the water in the reservoir or the actually radiator? i know i shouldn't put it in while its hot. (ouch)
