Default built LS/Vtec 1/4 mile times

My friend has a built LS/Vtec in his 89 si. He ran a 14.1 full interior, SI wheels with the stock tires on them. He couldn't get traction at all. He's running this weekend with slics at a better track. He wants to know what everyone else with LS/Vtec in there EF is running.

Ok, I am already hitting low(very low) 14's with my ls motor. I am expecting to hit well in the mid to low 13's with the head swap. Something is not right here.

For the short lived time that my LSVTEC was together, I got it to the track once without the Z10's dialed in perfect, shitty tires and an k: track it ran 9.5 @74 in the eighth best, consistant 9.7's. Then the head lifted.

Hey man, I wasn't trying to be a punk. With a good clutch, good axles, better launch, and slicks, he will definitely hit consitent thirteens. I know he is probably having a ton of fun with that car. Lots of torque-and the horsepower to go along with it. Let me know his new times

heh, i'm running a 9.8 @ 72 mph in the 1/8th with my g2 teg.
i'm getting ready to build my LS/vtec the right way.. pr3 pistons, balanced rods/crank, GSR block girdle.. and a b17a head ..
eventually i'll get some ITR cams and IM/TB for it but for now it's just gonna have to survive with stock b17a top end.
i cant wait to see what i'll do at the 1/8mile track near me.

One of my friend has a CRX with a "stock" LS/VTEC and he runs all day long between 13.8 and 14 flat. That's with toyo ra-1 tires.

i knew of a LSvtec motor in a EG HB that ran 11.90s
I think it made like 230whp give or take. And it made power up to 9200RPM

i talked to him more about his motor and its not really that built...ls block and its re-sleeved. hes running gsr pistons witha b16 head with type R valves, valve springs and retainers, gsr cams. so it was my bad for sayin it was built..sorry guys..but anyways..his clutch is now completely done after this weekend and he has no cv joint left.haha..still ran a 14.0 but his trap speeds are between 97-99 all the time
