Is it possible that the AEM CAI for the ITR is larger in diameter? Or is that difference only between civics and Integras?

I'm gonna say no because of they do NOT share the same intake manifold position. Even if you did get it to fit, the mounting bracket would be way off.

You'd be much better off selling the GSR unit and purchasing one specifically made for the ITR.

When I first started out, I bought a gsr aem cai before switching over to a skunk manifold. I didn't want to buy another intake so my mechanic took a saw to my cai and made it fit. It's possible, you just have to cut it and put it together with rubber tubing. It's not the prettiest but it works. So now I have a gsr cai that's all cut up. The only thing I would be concerned about is the diameter of the tubing. Isn't the type r bigger?

it doesn't really fit. intake manifold positioning on the cars are different, not to mention type R piping is 3".
