Identifying/Measuring Cams. How/Where to do it?

Identifying/Measuring Cams. How/Where to do it?
Its simple, I have a set of cams, I have some markings on the ends, but I do not know what they are. What is the best way to go about getting them measured/identified? Can I take them to a machine shop and have them measured? I have a set of Blox type B's and they look very similar, if not BIGGER than them. So I am a bit anxious to find out what they are.
