a'pexi N1 tOO loud???
I just recentLy purchased a A'pexi N1 exhaust from a friend. It's currently sitting on my bed right next to my brand new Tokico shocks. I know the N1 is renound for producing and ear bleeding sound as hits the high rpms. What i wanna know is, if it's tOO loud...as in just stupid noise or if it's loud and it sounds good. Because i'm reaLLy against annoyingly stupid sounding exhausts. I also have the silencer, how much does that reduce noice levels? and how does that change the sound overall? All comments are welcome and encouraged.
Its not bad from the inside, but at high rpm's, it gets kinda crazy. I have been told by my friends that they honestly think it is a bit too loud. It sounds good but its just so loud. My friend can hear me driving to his house 1 mile away.
The N1 exhaust sounds great at High RPM especialy on a type-r. But it is VERY LOUD a friend of mine has this exhaust, he came by me at Full Throttle and i almost had a asthma attack, he was 8 blocks away from me and i could hear his exhaust when he downshifted from 3rd to second. When i first heard it, i didn't know wth was going on. When you add the silencer to it it limits the noise alot but it makes the car sound like a motorcycle when your hitting the Vtec area.

I like it....but....
something like SMSP uses (Magnaflow) is much better (and quieter).

someone gave me an Apexi WS >> it's not bad at all, but perf-wise there is the obvious sacrifice. I plan on going with the Mugen twin-loop, magnaflow, or hytech

IMO it's annoying loud. It sounds like a street bike to me...turbo sounds nice though, but that would be a stupid reason to get a turbo, just to quiet your exhaust.
If you think anything above a GReddy EVO is loud inside and outside the cabin, you don't want a loud one. The silencer works, but not that great. When the people in the post said 1 mile away and a couple blocks away you can hear it, it's true...you can't hear your stereo in the car and you have to practically yell to talk to someone when you are accelerating without the silencer in...

tHanks a lot for all the comments. weLL it's too late now to get another exhaust, i already bought the N1 so i'm definitely gonna take it for a spin, or two, or three, or a thousand. And as for the ricer comment...what'R you talking about ricer!? no way man. i'M totaLLy against rice so that **** wouldn't fly on my car if i had any inclination i would come off as having a ricey exhaust. although...i guess you could consider it rice b/c of how ******* loud it is if you don't know what kind of exhaust it is and you just think it's annoying.
It's pretty fricken loud, one of the loudest exhausts I have heard. Highway drone would suck bigtime I would imagine. I do think it sounds nice, just not something I could live with on a day to day basis.
Way to loud.
If you're on the highway and in higher rpms and someone is in a parking lot they will definitly hear it from a distance and it's not a nice sound. Just loud.
I think DC has a pretty sound, not to loud at all. I'm looking into the Apexi WS for my next cat back.
My greddy is even to loud.
i consider it kinda ricey because it's way beyong too loud. you can literly hear it coming a mile away and even with the silence in it's still rediculous. it also had lots of the nasty bwaaat. so its qualily design and race inspired and all that what-not it's still too loud to be daily driven. they are right you can't talk over it in vtec and the cops will looooove you for it. just my .02
i have the n1 on my si i have i/h/e and its not loud....with my cold air i can hear the vtec coming more from the intake then the exhaust.....recently i put on a hi flow cat and now i can only hear sound from the exhaust rather than the intake....anyway my point is that it is not too loud...it gets loud at high rpms...but not insanely loud...i think it has a nice "deep throaty" tone....it gets a

Not bad, but with the silencer out, it's an animal in the high rpm's.
For daily driving, keep the silencer in, and you won't get messed with by cops, and you'll notice a bit of low end torque is gained back.
I've had 10 different exhaust systems, and the N1 is the only one I kept.
To each his own...
I have the N1 catback on my dc2 and I am completely satisfied with it. With the silencer on its not loud at all and as far as high way drone (w/silencer) I can't even hear it. Friends that have driven next to me on the highway, while cruising at a maintained engine speed of 3,500rpm have told me that they can't even hear it.
Now, with the silencer off... well thats a different story
I love the way it screams from vtec to redline
This is just my own opinion, so don't take my word for it.
