Default Switch for radiator fan?

I did a search for this but the threads strayed from the subject and never answered the question.

Anyone know how to wire a switch to turn the radiator fan on? Thanks

you could just cut the wires at the cooling fan relay if you want and run wires into the cabin. or use the wires that run to the termo switch to add wires that run to a switch.

the one thing to make sure of is that the fan is pulling air, not pushing. i think the fans will run either way depending on what wire you set the power to.

oh and run a inline fuse in the wires as a safety measure. or run the wire to the fus box and add a fuse.

On the back of the block there is a thermoswitch (see Helms manual) that turns of the fan when the coolant temp is at the proper level. The wire that goes to the thermoswitch is the ground to the fan relay. When the coolant is hot enough, the thermoswitch completes the ground to the body and the fan comes on.

To intall a switch, splice a wire into the relay ground wire that goes to the thermoswitch. Dont cut this wire, just splice into it so you have a T connection. Run this new wire into the car to a switch. From the other side of the switch, run a wire to a good ground.

Now, when you flip the switch, the fan will come on. It will also come on if you forget and the temp get high enough to trip the thermoswitch. Best of both worlds.

Enjoy!
