custom exhaust build v.9
****** will update it tomorrow post correct muffler just wanted to get the basic stuff ootw******
I'll call it v.9 and not 1 because the wrong muffler was used (my fault) this one is a 14inch can the one I meant to order was a 22inch can of the same style same basic thing just more noise suppression, anyway 2 more days and I'll get the right one installed.
So far nothing I have seen from all motor s2000 daily drivers has convinced me that a little more peak power and alot of noise is worth losing normal low and mid range power by going with a 3 inch exhaust.
So I was more than happy when I called John @ Hytech about using a 2.5 inch exhaust and mating it to someday to the long tube header set-up when he told me that he had just built one and the owner couldn't stop raving about it's superior power band. = win
So after having heard like a gillion other exhaust I figured I'd save alot of money and get a better product by building my own.
So the basic parts

Tuner Pro test pipe - cheapo but will get replaced by the longer header - 40 bux shipped egay with help parts 40009 twin spark plug defouler o2 cell fix
Maganflow spun cell cat with dual band clamps (summit wont ship this to CA btw but amazon will for 90 bux)
A bit about the cat - since it's a slip fit it can be easily replaced by any muffler shop for a car sound ect for 70 bux so no more 800 dollar honda or 280 dollar dirrect fit high flows + spun cells are incredibly durable and very high flow, most really high end exhaust systems use them for that reason.
Magnaflow offset muffler 14inch shown 18 overall - the offset makes for greater sound suppression but no lost power and in this case a more compact fit - 90 shipped.
So all stainless parts - 15 pounds shown for 230 bux - total exhaust would end up about 20 pounds from the header back for a loss of about 50 pounds which was enough to raise the rear of my car enough to level the suspension height and reduce some camber
And here's what it looks like installed (once it's completed it will be pulled and high temp coated black with rustoleum bbq paint) the fitment with the larger muffler and angle will be a little different

LP racing here in cucamonga did the work in about 3 hours and the total including parts was 700
10611 Pullman Court, Rancho Cucamonga, CA (909) 948-9583
Also another great place that stocks all of the parts (will not remove a cat so you'd better have a test pipe installed already)
fast intentions - does true mandrel bending btw for the same money and same great welding
8725 Canby Avenue, Northridge CA (818) 882-2788
Anyway it's meaty now, very deep and alot of midrange and top end but when I get the other muffler installed and driven in I will be posting some in dept vid in action.
