91 civic question???

Icon2 91 civic question???

my civic is a mini me swap d15/d16z6, it takes a long time to start it up. when iam driving it some times it will bogg out.? i dont know whats wrong with it. HELP me

Starter maybe? Drained battery? Probably going to need more info than its bogging when you drive it, RPMs? Speed?

Could be many things. When you say "bogg out" do you mean you're cruising in gear and the engine does not respond to throttle? You lean forward in your seat pressing the gas pedal and nothing happens? Then it springs to life all of a sudden n jerks you back?

The two things that jump out to me in this post are:

-coil on its way out.
-or, out of mechanical time.

Look at the rotor button. If the metal/fiber part is burnt significantly the coil may be dying.

If it's fine. Jump a tooth on your cam gear one way. If it gets better, cool. If it gets worse jump it the other way two teeth... Let us know what happens.

mybikeisblack- it will be at any idol and when i get on the gas the rpms will drop and i half to stomp on the gas and it will bogg then be fine after i do that a couple times. i have replaced battrie and starter.


foowee-and yes thats what it is doing. then it will die and be hard to start.


civicsd- umm i halvent yet just injectors.

Have you tried a different coil yet? Grab a couple the next time you go to the junk yard... Did you pull the cap? n look at the rotor button?

You say it dies and is hard to start. So it stops running and you use the starter to crank it for a while before it starts again?

If this is what's happening, after it dies next time, pull over n turn the key off. Now turn the ignition to the on position and pay attention to the check engine light. Does it light up for a few seconds n go out? or does it stay on?

If it stays on it may be the joints on the board of your main relay.
