Honda Accord Type-R?
Hey whats up...
I have a question..
Im kinda new to this site...
So my question might be kinda of a dumb question to some of you guys/girls but here goes...
Can it be possible to do and engine swap of a Honda Accord Type-R from Europe to a Honda Accord Lx from America?...
If so, is it difficult?...
And will it be worth it?...
Thanks hope to get some feedback...

IIRC The R has an H22A under the hood. Therefore you should look into info for the H22 swap into your year Accord. It can be done and there are a few swap threads in the FAQ that might help you out.

If your just looking for specs and shyte do a Google search. There are a boat load of wiki pages full of Honda engine info.

from what ive gathered... theres two types of engine choices. the f20b from the sir-t. and the h22's and h23. for optimum performance (like the f20b and h22a) it would be wise to get their respective transmission and especially the pcm. mounts are pretty much the same from what i've gathered and emissions and legality are the only slow downs for me.
everybody says the f23, f22, and f20 are one in the same with the h series. of course there are different components that make each engine way different like cams and pistons etc. h22 and h23 have the most american support be it factory or aftermarket. the f20b is what i personally want.
search *jdm engines* on google, thats a good place to start for prices.
keep in mind that there will most likely be electrical issues like wiring.
ummm.....
you have to find out what your goals are. without that, dont even bother
IDK HOW LEGIT THIS BIT OF INFO IS ANYMORE(been a long time since i heard).. but the fastest n/a honda was an f23a1. was in a crx but was pushing some good numbers. the torque and lightweight body probably had something to do with it but if i'm correct. it was pushing some odd 300 hp.
h series are the most logical route to go if you wanna swap, but for the monies spent, you prolly could've boosted your vehicle. give or take $$$
some or all this info may or may not be right. i have only researched off forums and personally in planning stages for my own swap. hope this helps.

the things im not confident about, are little things like cv axle, a/c, power steering, distributor, t/b, exhaust mani, compatibilities. i know you can slap an h series tranny on your f23a1 and get more aggressive gearing with less mpg. (mine seems gutless till about 40 mph and has the most output at 40-100 mph. it starts creeping up to 120 lol) i talked to a guy on this forum that completed the f20b swap and says its like night and day. and the lsd out of that engine is wicked. main reason i wanna do the swap is to pretty much see what the rest of the world gets. and its blue top. If i really wanted some toys, i'd invest in an mazda fc (fd is still way out of my check book) with a jdm 20B REW Mazda Cosmo Eunos RX7 3-Rotor Twin Turbo. :-P do some research with the right questions and you'll see what i mean now im just rambling... good luck with your decisions!!
