My key won't even turn in the ignition.

And what's even stranger is that when I came to my spot, it was parked differently than how I parked it the night before....could someone have broken in my car? I don't see any signs of theft inside....but it's clearly parked differently....

and does anyone know what to do when the key won't even turn? I can't even step on the brakes. It just stays in its position when I try to press down...

It's a 2005 Honda Accord LX...4 cylinder...I don't know a lot about cars....

 

Try moving the steering wheel back and forth while you turn the ignition. It may be the steering lock.

It would just be a guess if someone moved your car without your key, as the car does have the immobilizer system.

 

If you're certain the car is out of position, it is possible someone tried to dolly load or flatbed your car (i.e. attempt to steal it). Check for any damage marks at the exposed end(s) of your car depending on if it was accessible from the front, rear or both ends. Also see if it looks like the tires were dragged (marks on asphalt).

 

AS stated before, try to turn the steering wheel while turning the key to try and unlock the steering.

 

I know this page is quite old but I'm having this problem now... Ugh. Any more tips? I also have the same 2005 Accord lx 2.4l.
