Default my civic hatchback

Well here goes i guess, a build thread. It will probably be a little slow, but i hope to have my car done before IA. My brother is very into photography so it helps that i always have someone taking pics for me
I started out with a bone stock 1996 civic dx hatchback. I saved up for the car after buying my first car when i was 16. I only had 1500 dollars when i spotted the add for a 1996 civic for 2500 with no pictures. which usually turns me off of an add. but i decided to inquire more about the car. I emailed the guy, his name was rob and he actually lived right were i was about to move. I then told my mom and step dad about my situation. my mom was reluctant, but my step dad borrowed me the extra grand to buy the car. the next morning i went with my friend and picked the car up.

the first day i brought her home, a virgin with 124,000 miles and a bit of rust.

I drove the car for about a month in a half until i found neuspeed lowering springs. i bought them for cheap and put them on. it only dropped the car a bit, the ride was good so i decided that me and a few buddies were going to cut the springs.

I then found a set of cheep gsr blades, because i couldn't afford much with being in high school and working a part time job, it was hard to save money for expensive parts.

Here is it with cut lowering springs and gsr blades

Then i started saving for some real parts. i saved up for Function and form coilovers. I also ordered some blox lca's and a lip. My friend me and my brother put on the suspension. well actually it was just my brother and friend since i didn't do anything because of a broken elbow. here are some pics

i felt i had to help so i assisted with the lighting..

cheap tools

this is pretty much how my car stayed for a while only doing a few other small updates. some including a carbon fiber duckbill and c pillar bar etc.
now looking like this i was pretty happy

more photoshoots came..

eventually it was time for import alliance! me, my brother, my buddy and cousin all rolled down there from wisconsin. it was a long drive but well worth it in the end we all had a fun time

I agree with supersonicvtec 99-00 too common. I like the 96-98 anyways.

sorry to hear that brah. The thought of my car getting stolen is a nightmare that haunts me every day, especially living where I live in NY . I hate thieves with a PASSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they need to die a painful death.

I wish you the best with your build brah, you have a lot of work ahead of you.

I really like that look. No lip, nothing extra. Just a clean drop and nice wheels.
