You should get 195/55/15. Some good summer tires in that size are dunlop star spec, bfg g force sport, yokohama s. drive, michelin pe2. I have the s. drive and would recommend them. They have good wet and dry grip and good treadwear, and are priced right. They arent as good as the star spec, or re11, xs, ad08, etc. But they are cheaper and last longer.

Wow, I can't believe that everyone is just throwing out tire sizes without knowing what year Civic this is. Different years of Civics use different size tires.

If your Civic hatchback is a '95 or earlier, 195/50-15 is the best size. If it's a '96-00, 195/55-15 is the best size. Don't get anything bigger than that unless your car is a 2001 or newer.

The S.drive is a very good summer tire, offering very good performance on dry and wet roads, decent treadlife (typically 25-40K miles), and a decent price (for 195/50-15, it's $74/tire with free shipping from Discount Tire Direct, which is less than the $67/tire price at the Tire Rack after you add in shipping).
