FS/FT: 93 Del Sol Si, 106k, NW IN
SOLD
For Monday through Wed (before I leave for a T-day trip): $2000 takes the Sol. I am hoping to pick up a civic out of state that is my in-laws next-door neighbor's car and need the cash. If it doesn't work out, not a big deal-- and it'll go back to $2200 when I get back.
1993 Del Sol Si, 106K. Looking for $2600 to get what I've got into it, or to trade for a stock dependable daily driver, preferably a small truck. Looking for $2200, so I can get a ride that is available on my local Craigs...
Got the Sol recently in a trade. I had an 83 GTI rabbit that was awesome, but too much for me. The sol was a good trade, but it is small and I'd like the option to carry more, and to cart around the kids if needed by the wife.
Mechanically, it runs beautifully. New oil change and filter. Previous owner said it had timing belt/water pump change, but no paperwork.
Only issues at the moment:
*2-3 drops oil a day from head gasket.
*At start from neutral, have to bounce from 3 to first on occasion. Once running, shifting is smooth. Never a grind or any noise and shifts smoothly.
Cosmetically, it has some dings and small dents, and the respray paint isn't perfect. Door handle on the driver's side is cracked in two, but works fine. One of the best things for the midwest: zero rust. It's a FL car that was brought up here by a pilot who works between IL and FL.
AC works beautifully (freezing) and heat is a beast. Has new tires- two with 95 tread and two with less than 60 miles. Stays cool during in-town driving and drives 70+ on highway with not an issue.
It has a JVC head unit that is nice too. Interior is good, but glove box will need some work. One rip in driver seat. Otherwise, all gauges, buttons and ***** work.
Again, my hope was to find a 86-96 toyota truck, or something similar with reliablility and can haul stuff. Otherwise, a stock hatch would be cool.
I'm in no rush to get rid of this car, as I think it'll be a good one for the winter drive with the fwd and new tires. I've been upfront here, not to give ammo to chip away at the price, but to offer up what I know. I think it is a great ride, but likely a better fit for someone who loves del sols or has the knowledge to make this their own car.

Thanks! It's a good car that I'm torn about keeping or selling. My ideal rides:
*Marty McFly's truck
*Getting back to my ol' 2002 Honda Civic Si
*A nice stock, daily driver honda hatch with no mods, no rust.
Crazier wants:
*Chevy luv/Isuzu pup diesel in good shape
*(For sale in IL now) M1009 blazer
*First gen civic/prelude
All of these would require me to know more about cars, but they are sweet.

Got an interesting offer for a 89 jeep yj with 168k. Not on my radar, but the 4x4 might be good for the winter? I know even less about those...
So, research on the internet instead of working bump.

Bump, for the fun of talking to random people off craigslist about the del sol as my hobby.

Bump:
Will sell for $2300. Won't go lower. I think I might make this work out anyway and start working and learning with it. Not interested in trades anymore unless it is a 4x4 truck in daily driving shape.

WILL go lower.
When I got the Sol, it had a CEL. I learned how to do a CEL check from this site. It does need a o2 sensor. I'll drop to $2200 for that, as they average $50 and for a little time. (This might bump back up if I get the itch to do the o2 sensor myself). Still gets great MPG and runs smoothly, so I'm not too rushed to do the job.

Bump before bed.
Big day for me and the Sol. Changed gear oil and it went smoothly. Need to find a ramp stand, however, that works with the low del sol. Had to jack it up and then put ramp stands under floating wheels.
Let me know if you want a Sol si!
BONUS: I forgot to post that the lil Sol comes with a Del Sol Factory Service Manual. Hundreds and hundreds of pages of info and pics. Pretty sweet.
