well, i seaqrched and couldnt find anything directly speaking of this. I had put my engine together, ran 30 passes on the dyno, then made 4 passes at the track, and it pushed the locks through the retainers. I am not sure what brand retainers or springs were in the head, but they were not stock ones. I was wondering what is the best valvetrain to run with these cams, or if the s2 pro series are the only ones that will work correctly as i had been told that before but thought any aftermarket ones would be good. it had started pushing through on about 6 other valves also. it dropped a valve, broke it and broke 3 others, trashed the head, block and pistons and im trying to avoid that on the next build. any help would be appreciated. thanks
^^ Supertech springs/retainers as mentioned above, or the Sk2 Pro springs/retainers. I've been running the Pro 2's on SK2 pro springs and retainers for roughly 15k without any problems. A local shop has been using supertech springs/retainers with sk2 pro 2 and 3 cams with great success as well. If you are going to be on a tight budget, the supertech combo is cheaper...
On a side note, it is possible that the wrong locks/keepers were used with your retainers. I'm not sure what brand, but I know I've come across aftermarket retainers that had to use specific keepers for the correct fit rather than OEM
