i am very tight on time and my car needs paint in the worst way. right now it is two shades of red..anywho has anyone painted a car in pieces, like fenders then doors then hood and so on and so forth..i just dont have time for it all at once.. any ideas or input would be nice. thanks
you can do it but some colors are harder to make it look right. some metallics , tri coats and so on.
if you do this stay as consistant as possible.
same color sealer, same number of coats for base color on each panel and use the same paint formula

yeah i planned on buying all the materials first, and maybe even buying spare fenders and bumpers so that i wouldnt have to drive around looking foolish, but then agian im in a red car thats two different shades so how much foolish could i look.
the worst part will be the rear quarter panels and door jams. the car will have to be parked for a little while to do those so maybe i should just do it all at once...

You can do it if you are not using metallics or anything like that with a complex finish. Make sure you use the exact same paint from the same can and try your best to keep the gun settings the same and the ambient temp the same. I know atomization can make colors appear lighter/darker....
