So I just picked up an OEM Equalizer. I believe that it is a pretty rare peice. I wanted some more opinions on it. When I do the search option in it, I find topics like mine that turn into arguments over stupid things.
So lets hear it... Rare? or Common?

comon i come across these here and there at my junkyard i would say umm every 2 to 4 months and by the way they are only used with oem head units which are old and crappy and dont have cd players bro but i guess so
Most people think CRX's are old and crappy too..
If someone in the future would ever want to restore an old Honda and wants an EQ, a brand new one will be impossible to find, just like all those old muscle cars with factory OEM options.
Many people don't realize that the civic/crx ones are different from the other honda/acura ones in size. Also the trim piece around it is equally rare because they dont fit without it
You could easily make that part out of abs plastic, wood, or a flat carbon fiber plate instead of wasting a lot of both time and money looking for that part.
Here are some examples of gauges but you get the idea:

Btw, I dont make imitation parts for my cars..LoL... thats a ricey way of doing things....
In this case I bet even you could make something nicer than the OEM part, for cheaper. You could actually learn a new skill in the process and take pride in your ingenuity. If that is what you consider rice - keep wishing and hoping to find the part online so you can overpay for a useless piece of plastic.
truthfully i think i looks clean keeping the oem headunit but just the equalizer is a pos why have that when you have a stock stereo you know but idk just my two cents i would actually get the cd player (which is supper rare) but oh well umm the trip piece i would just make it just cuz its a 20 year old part i found one a while ago but it was cracked and also they are hard to pop off with out breaking tabs just cuz of the weakness of the old plastic i got a cup holder on my ef were my old eq used to go and i gotta say yay for no more spilled drinks
It's called Nostalgia.
You think people ever use GhettoBlaster boomboxes nowadays ?
No, they just love to have them as a show conversation piece.
Look on ebay and see how much they sell for.
