Default 93 EG6 SiR Gbox Whining When down shifting

Just finished putting a new motor in and using the same gbox, didnt hear this noise before, iv had the flywheel skimmed and used same clutch and thrust bearing (both fine before engine swap) The only difference is im using castrol 10-30w oil in it rather than honda MTF, though would that be enough to cause the noise? When downshifting into first it makes a loudish whining/screetching noise, I think it slightly does it downshifting from 3rd to 2nd.

Help !

well you should get that motor oil out of there ASAP....that is supposed to be a last resort.

do you downshift when you slow down for a stop light?

you shouldnt be using the engine to slow you down. That is why you have brakes.

haha what are you talking about? until honda made mtf, they ran 30w oil in their cars, and they still do if you dont request it at the dealer.

downshifting is a good way to save brakes. ever notice truck drivers?

i would think that the whininng would be a mainshaft bearing showing its age.
