Pilot TPMS and Snow Tires
So, I've been trying to figure out the best route to go as far as a separate set of snow tires go for my wifes car (06' EX AWD). I would like to get a separate set of wheels to mount snow tires on to prevent having to pay for mount/balance twice per year. Since the sensors are inside of the tire, I can't just swap them over either. I was thinking I could pick up a set of Honda TPMS sensors for cheap and keep them on a set of steelies w/ snow tires. My question is, do any Honda brand TPMS sensors work, or would any work? I've seen CRV ones for sale an even Accord ones. If those would work, then I'll probably pick them up, and find a set of wheels/tires and put them on. Will the TPMS be smart enough to recognize them and have an accurate reading? If I install a spare set of wheels without them, I know the VSM will stay on as a "safety feature", as well as the TPMS light. I'd like to be able to just swap wheels twice per year and not have to worry about lights, and anything out of the ordinary. Advise from someone with extensive knowledge/experience with TPMS's would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Thanks!
