1988 EF DX door panel upholstery change.
I took apart my door panel last night and I realized that the part that is holding the upholstery isn't detachable from the actual door panel itself.
My question is, has anybody ever managed to find a way to change the upholstery on an EF?
I tried everything I could to at least get the new cloth on the door panel to see what it would look like, so I ended up cutting out a cardboard piece in the same shape as where the upholstery would be, wrapped the fabric around that and secured the fabric on the cardboard with tape, then securing the cardboard onto the door panel using Gorilla Tape (Considering it was just a test, and I will be redoing it more professionally.)
Here's the outcome of the crap trial:

I know that the fabric is all crooked and, well.. Not laid out straight, but like I said before, I was just testing out what it would look like.
If anybody else has done it a different way, please let me know how you did it!

I haven't ran into a DIY for EF Hatch/Sedan door panel cloth changing yet, so I've taken the time to take pictures of the process (this time I used the right supplies)
If anyone wants a DIY for this, let me know

there are some good write ups on this.
also don't feel bad, when doing upholstery can be a little more challenging with plaid because its obvious when it's not lined up right due to the fabric design.
