i recently bought an si trans for a sohc im building. the guy said it was from his brothers wrecked 91 si hatch. didnt think to check. well i go to install the trans and it doesnt fit. the trans i got is from an 88. 21 splines on the input shaft. i have tons of clutch parts laying around but none for an 88. ive done some searching and is it right that the flywheel is diff on the 88s too? if thats the case sounds like ill need a whole new clutch kit ...which sucks

 

Yup,the bastard child 88 was different in a few ways (my sedan+ 1st crx are 88).I got the 21 spline ACT "upgrade" disc (21 spline,but 212mm diameter like 90+,instead of the 190?mm) Just use 90+ flywheel,PP,and "upgrade disc"...

 

so your saying this upgrade disc has the 21 center spline to fit the trans but the outer dia. is same as the 90+? whered you get it? and was it decent price
