Default Another Vtec Issue, OBD-1 GSR

So this is my First GSR before, and im still learing.

Been doing a lot of research on how GSR vtec Works. (I have only ever had b16)

Stock P-72
OEM Everything (that matters in this situation)

Im not hearing/Feeling Vtec Kick around the 4500 Mark.
But i do Hear/Feel the IAB's Open at 5700.

No CEL's Except Code 17 (speed sensor, the cable is broken)

So i disconnected the Vtec Solenoid and took it for a drive
and i didnt feel anything differient. Not slower, and the IAB's still open. Just as loud when they open. (and too quiet to begin with IMO)

Fresh Oil Change, Oil is full, and everything is hooked up (i think, because no CEL's)

I did the swap myself so i dont think vtec has ever worked.

did my research and cant figure it out

Please help!?

thanks!

You def need the speed sensor. When i first got my gsr running in the crx vtec wasn't working. Turns out I had the same problem due to the fact that my speedo cable was not in all the way because i lost the clip. Found the clip put it on and vtec worked...

btw on EF's the VSS signal comes from the cluster I believe. So you don't actually need an electronic speed sensor. Works out the same. But you need to use your old gear out of the stock d-series trans. Drops right into the b-series transmission

umm well given you have a cable drive gear in the trans and not the electronic one you just pull the cable out of the back of the cluster, and pull it inward towards the inside of the car
