What size tires for 16x6.5" rims? + (1.75 in drop)
92 accord H&R sport drop. 1999 OEM Acura CL wheels. 205/50/16? 205/45/16?
I am looking for year round tires, that look nice but don't cost an arm and a leg. What kind do you recommend? what size? They are now sitting on OEM 205/55/16 Michelins.

i have pirelli p6000's in 205/55/15 v-rated for $80 a tire from discount. best rubber i ever put on. i had bfgoodrich euro t/a same size and rating but no where near as good. replaced them within a year and a half but that's partially to blame because of bad camber. got a camber kit, get one. prolly go 215/45 or 40/16's
nice 215 tires are kinda hard to find i think, i've been shopping around and most tires have mainly 205 and 225 tires.
205/50/16 would be very close to the stock diameter of accords w/ the 195/60/15 wheels (24" or so for the 205/50/16 vs 24.2" or so). I dont know what tire size the 14" steelies w/ hubcaps had though. That would probably be the best tire size for daily driving purposes (IMO).
205/45/16 i think is way too small, even 225/45/16 is smaller than 24.2" (thou if u can get it to fit well, it would work). 225/50/16 is significantly bigger in diameter though, you might not be able to fit it w/ your drop.
and on a side note, i just got quoted $85/tire out hte door w/ mounting/alignment/balancing from discount tire for Yokohama ES100's in 205/60/15. I'm so tempted to go w/ those even thou they are only H-rated in speed for that size. I feel inclined to go w/ the newer tire releases than the old Pirelli p6000s.

the pirellis are supposed to be a pretty new re release or something. saw an article about p6000 and p7000 in SCC. the 60 would be too tall with 205 width. 205/55 keeps the proper tire diameter. plus you're right about the 45 being too short on a 15 inch wheel but with a 16 incher he needs shorter tires so i think the 45's would be pretty close. the 14" steelies run something like a 195/75
