I'm reinstalling the stock front struts on my 97 SH. To tighten bolts with the suspension under load, Helms says "raise the knuckle with a floor jack until the vehicle just lifts off the safety stand". I don't see any place on the knuckle to fit a floor jack due to the lower ball joint and radius rod ball joint. Do they really mean the knuckle? The only place I see to put the jack is the lower control arm but I'm not sure if that would hurt anything. Thanks for any advice!

 

Use a block of wood and raise it on the spokes or the rotor

 

What spokes? Just lift it up by the control arm.

LCA worked, don't think it hurt anything. Rotor works too just make sure it doesn't roll off the jack. Thanks for the help!

I misread, I thought he wanted to take it off. By spokes I meant the lug nut thread things
