If you tell a machine shop you want to port and polish the block they will probably just laugh at you. Porting/polishing the head will run you about $600. Thats the typical going rate.

Why would you want to port a head thats already mildly ported from the factory?

A good idea would be to learn about what you are talking about and not just list things that you have been mis-informed about.

What is your budget?

Why not just mildly build the head?

Don't waste your money on getting a factory ported head ported even more. Rebuild the motor to factory spec then mildly build the head and get it tuned.

The real power in DOHC honda motors is in the head. A built bottom end is nice, but just adds another variable into the mix.

The type -r motor is a great motor from the factory to begin with. Leave the block alone, just rebuild it to factory spec.

Mildly built the head.

There are so many different ways to build up the motor you have. I guess to start what are your hp goals?

How many miles are on the motor currently?

Let me know and we'll go from there.

there's no reason to rebuild it at only 73K miles unless you're trying to gain more compression for the type of racing that you plan to do. "More power" is great, but as I see I'm asking a young person.. you must ask "for what purpose"? If you're really thinking about Drag racing. Perhaps its time for another engine platform altogther

Okay, over 200whp is not going to be a problem. Rebuild the block to factory spec.

As far as the head goes. I would use either a skunk2 pro series intake manifold and 68mm throtle body, or an edlebrock performer-x or victor-x intake manifold. You decide which you prefer. I have to make you rescearch a little. Lol.

As far as camshafts go, skunk2 tuner 1's or tuner 2's. Again you decide. Just make sure you get the skunk 2 tuner series valve springs and retainers to go with the tuner series camshafts.

You will also need a set of adjustable cam gears to be able to degree the camshafts to get the most power you can out of them. As far as brand goes you can't go wrong with skunk2 tuner series cam gears.

Next would be a good header. A lot of people have had quite a bit of success with the kidd racing rmf race header. Its not to insanely priced.

As far as the engine build goes thats about it. With that build you should have no problem using the stock 240cc injectors as long as you have a method to tune the car with.

For tuning you need to run an obd1 p28 ecu with a burnable chip or some kind of rtp board installed. Crome pro is a great system for the money. It will allow you to do everything you need to and then some. It also had a data logging feature. If you are strapped for cash you can get away with a burnable 4 pin eprom chip, the only down fall is that you have to reburn it every time you want to re tune the motor. Crome pro is the best for the money. The newer version has all the flaws that the original version had corrected/fixed.

While we are on the subject of tuning get a good wideband afr meter. The innovative lm-1 system is very good setup. I like it quite a bit. It will run you about $230.00 new from an ebay seller. You do need the basic kit in case you were wondering. It also has a data logging feature.

That setup will put you over 200hp and then some.

There is no point in even touching the block, other than to add head studs.
A itr wont have to much of a problem making 200whp.

My friend used to have a kiddracing header, and it was great, made great power on his setup.
Also, there is RMF,SMSP,or SSR. There are tons more, that is just 3.
