ok so i have a 94 LX wen i got it i realised the ***** for the air or the selecting buttions didnt light up but then hit a bump an they came on.. so that was wen i knew i was in for electrical issues.. (the aftermarket radio was put in by previouse owner but i put the speakers, amp, an wiring, in myself...


so i put a new radiator in and now the car does some crazy ****... please bare with me its really hard to explain in a typed message....

but the radio will cut out like i hit the preset for the station i was already on and SOMETIMES rite in the pause the bass will hit once an then the music will continue.. AND sometimes wen the radio cuts out the speed-o will drop down to zero but immedietly bounces rite back, but SOMETIMES it cuts-out and theres nothing but a pause in the music... but ive also noticed the speed-o will SOMETIMES drop DURING the pause in the music AND if i tap the gas the speed-o will drop, but with no change to the radio 2) sometimes the amp will cut-out an will just be the interior speakers playing (for like 3-5 seconds) then come back on; and SOMETIMES wen it comes back on it puts out a loud thump...SOMETIMES the box will put out that loud thump randomly... AND SOMETIMES when i turn the headlights on the lights for the gauges will take a second to turn on (stock gauges/setup, no indiglow or anything like that....

what i mean by "sometimes" is sometimes one symptom will hapen with another one but then sometimes that same symptom will go along with a whole diffrent symptom, or the 2 symptoms that normaly happen together will sometimes be totaly seperate or 2 that normally happen together will happen with a diffrent syptom each.. basicly i cant replicate anyone syptom and gaurentee that it will happen or go off at same time... and cant figure out which causes each syptom....

an all this just started happening after the radiator, dont think they are related just coinsidence but its really pissing me off...

this is so crazy, an i kno the whole sound system is hooked up correctly an tightly... the only thing thats not tip-top condition is the ground cable on battery is a tad loose an sometimes i gotta wiggle it to start the car (have to pop hood an wiggle the terminal, rare but does happen), but its been like that since i got the car and all this just started happing within the past few days...


PLEASE, PEEAAASSEEEE if anyone has ANY idea or p[ossible fix, or even where to start looking PLEASE let me know; thanks H-T...

 

I would check the amp and wiring. Years ago when I was a teenager with my first car, it was the amp I was using that was causing problems similar to what you are describing. I didn't have problems with the speedo when this was happening though.
