Default average HP on a stock DC5 type r

Hi, I was just wondering what is the average WHP on a bone stock DC5 type R. Maybe with an airfilter and exhaust only.

That's it? On a type R? I know that you loose some HP wrong crank horsepower to WHP, but so much? Maybe you are confused with the type S. I've seen stock DC5 Type R on youtube making 205-215 whp only with airfilter and exhaust. It can't be right, or am I wrong?

well the true answer lies in what kind of dyno you use too

yeah you're right i was thinking of a U.S. type-s. since type-r's are rated at about 220, i'd guess around 195-200 whp, and it definitely depends on the dyno

*sigh*.....the jdm k20a in the 02-04 dc5-r is pretty much = to the usdm 05-06 dc5-s k20z1....the only real differance was the r had a higher compression ratio of .5 and the cat back was a little better flowing.....What a lot of people forget is SEA HP rating system changed in 2005. If they had stayed constant, the 05-06 k20z1 would have made 212 hp at the crank...A lot of the US honda people forget that the gas in japan is High 94 octain and they can run higher compression ratios as a result...run thier motors on 92 octain and you need a whole different tune or its knock city.

Note: I have seen in a couple places that the 05-06 dc5-r k20a had some upgrades such as cams, pistions and heads but checking jdm part #'s makes my head hurt.....

thats why I laugh so hard when honda fanboys buy the k20a for huge dollars because it's the "Type-R" engine when yet the 05-06 rsx-s k20z1 basically is a type-R and when you slap an intake and header on it, it blows away a stock type-r engine lol

The B series "R" motors were kinda cool cuz honda paid a bunch of die grinder monkeys to clean up the ports in the heads....With the K motors, honda figured out that they could use ultra fine sand on the head molds to get the same effect( little known fact in the import world: chevy started doing this in the early 90's with the lt1 motors and later with the ls heads)...the best reason to get the k20a motor is for the trans, its got lower gears and a lsd....no fwd car should be driven without a lsd imo.
