Default Calling all 94-97 ACCORD owners or Honda Buffs?

I had a question. The A/C temp ***** on my accord are giving me problems. The heat/cold **** feels like it has resistance and does not just turn on a dime like in my 02' accord. (Not sure if this is normal). Also though all levels of the A/C work, it seems the **** will activate to "4" but go past "4" and turn off completely. Not sure if this is a fluke or common problem.

Any input?

Thanks

Normal. Go to the honda dealer and they will give you two tiny metal sleeves to go inside the ****. it will keep the ***** from stretching and breaking.

They all do this. as soon as i did this problem solved.

How much are these "sleeves"? Would they know what I am talking about if I went and asked, is it that much of a common problem, or just an annoyance factor?

Yup, the temp **** is stiff. Like the other guy said, they commonly break during cold weather b/c of the resistance.

I am reading forums about some cables. Honestly, I never adjust the temperature **** because, it is rarely cold here. But now that Winter is approaching, I don't want the Heat to die. When I did feel resistance I slowly adjusted the settings.

So basically what you are saying is that it's really an issue of keeping the ***** from breaking and in reality the resistance issue can't be corrected?

Correct, the cable is fine and shouldn't break. Just turn the **** slowly and you'll be fine! I didn't know about the metal inserts, but since I had ***** break on me before I took them off and zip-tied 3 small zip ties around the plastic to support it and keep it from breaking.

the cable is an expensive fix. the entire dash has to come out. The cable is fine just stiff.

if i remember right the sleeves were free. I just had to go get it.
