Default Alternator Options.

Hi guys..96spec R need a new alternator, any advice on what to buy.? Would a GSR work fine?

You might need to swap out the Pulley. can't remb if same size or not.

they are, good point with many cars though. the rpm redline has a MAJOR effect on the alternator life if the pulley size is off.

Will this work fine? I dont know if the year of the GSR would matter or not.

That is WRONG! The output of the alternator are different and they are made from different company if i remember correctly!

get a rebuild kit!! cost effective and it'll work like new...easy to do as well

LOL. uh huh, i have both jdm gsr and itr alternators on my shelf, same unit, both denso and both have the same pulley. it's possible the usdm 97 itr used a wimpy alternator due to the lack of AC but the late model cars were similarly equipped to the gsr. in jdm land AC was on every year if i remember right
