15" MF-10 versus 16" MF-10
These pictures were taken at the last Solo 1 event I attended last weekend. It was raining most of the day - so excuse the dirty wheels.
Here is a pic of the rims side by side. The 15" rim has 205/50 A032Rs on them. The 16" rim has Pirelli 225-40s.
This is the 15" on the car:
This is the 16" on the car:
Here is a pic of the 15's on the car:
Here is a comparison of tread width. The 15's are 6.5" wide with 205/50s and the 16's are 7" width with 225s. As you can see - there is very little difference.
This was my competition in IP2 that day. A 1900 lb fibreglass body CRX with a B18C5 motor with a Hytech header. The car was surprisingly not that fast...?
This was his brake setup. Brembos and Toyo RA-1s - they also had Dunlop slicks but due to the inclement weather were not able to run them.
Here is an interior shot of my car with the new OMP shift **** which I really like. It screws on. No damned Allen screws to come loose:
Here is another pic of the OMP cage:
Enjoy!

I hate you so very much.
How did you do at the race? I really tried to go but I just couldn't afford it.
Your wheels look nice. Did you notice any difference between the two?
Not really fair to race againsed a fiberglass custom car with a stock one. Sounds like they needed more classes.

Super nice rims!
One question... I thought you had 15x7" MF-10's and not 15x6.5"... notice any difference in steering feedback between the 16x7" vs. 15x6.5"?

So what were your lap times at Mission in the dry? What kind of times was Sheridan turning in his red CRX? How did lap times compare against Johnny in his Trans Am? And do you intend to come out to the 5-10 Lapping Day, Oct 6th? I would love to have an ITR out to compare laps with.

My times were a little slower than Sheridan's car. His car is fast! And he has huge front tires on that thing. They stick out past the bodywork about 2". Johnny said he was "surprised my car was really fast". Johnny and the Mustang boys had weird lines around the track. They were slow in the corners. But on the straight they sounded awesome.

Am I mistaken, or does it look as though that cage also bolts to the B-pillars?
Other than that.
Other than that.
It bolts to the seatbelt hangers - there is an extended flange there
So, mind IM'ing me with some idea of what the final bill was (for comparison shopping purposes).
I sold my SpeedWare harness guide bar and picked up an old style Kirk roll bar, but really would like to have a full cage in the car to go with the upcoming turbo potential.
Yes, mostly for track days at this point. Thanks ... Ed

15" R compounds (Toyo Proxes RA-1) are the best bang for the buck tire for the Type R. I have a set of them on my stock rims and they kick ***. Once the A032R's are done I'm going to buy another set of Toyo's.
DB1: I can't go to the event on the 6th. My folks are in from out of town.
