Default Mr. RF-320 Autopage guy again

Since everything went well with my trunk popper ordeal, I am feeling lucky and want to hook up the Parking light flash function. This is the H1/2 white wire.

The only problem is that there is a warning in the manual that states:

"Do not connect the the white wire to the dashboard lighting dimmer switch"

The only problem is by default, anywhere i tie into the parking light circuit on the 98 Prelude the Dimmer switch is going to be on the circuit.

Am I reading this right or am I being paranoid?

techically, your're right, but you'll be fine if you just use the red/black at your fusebox. Test this wire by makes sure it goes from 0v, to 12v when you turn your parking lights on. Its fine to use, I promise.

LOL, you should be fine, many an install has been performed on a bb6 prelude (one of the best cars honds ever built, IMO!), using that parking light wire, with no mushroom cloud as a result... What that warning is prob referring to is wiring into the dimmer module itself. the dimmer works as a potentiameter, meaning it just increases resistance to the circuit, as you want to dim the dash lights. The thing about the dimmer is, yeah, your parking light trigger will tell the dimmer to turn on, but there will be an output from the dimmer that also gets hot with the parking light wire (could be easily confused by an installer, as to which is the true parking light wire). applying 12v directly to the other wire in that dimmer could fry the module.
