low fuel light works randomly

low fuel light works randomly
i cannot figure out my low fuel light issue.
it works evry other time for no apparent reason.
i fill up half a tank every week and wait till the light turns on, it works one week and doesnt work next.
i banged on the dash and on the fuel sending unit cover to make sure nothing is stuck mechanically or a wire in the dash is loose.
checked the gauge cluster and the lightbulb checked the fuel sending unit connector all seems fine.
dont really know what else to look for.
