skunk2 pro 2's or tuner 2's on b18c1??
motor build
b18c1
ctr pistons
supertech dual valve springs
supertech retainers
skunk2 intake manifold
skunk2 throttle body
jdm itr header
whale ***** carbon fiber intake
was wondering which cams would be best for hp, performance, and as a daily driven car??
dont know which ones to get, this is my first all motor build and need help
or is there any other cams anyone would recommend that are better?

BTW...have fun with that compression height in the P72 head casting....
Just sayin'
Piston, meet head.. also, with that, i'd clay the motor, you might not even be able to run big cams with those pistons/head combo..
i really...really wish, people would get off this PCT/CTR piston trip.. if your going to build the motor and not used forged pistons that are custom to your app, go with PR3's or p30's and be just as well off in compression and allow for some decent part selections..

my friend has an all motor gsr and he has ctr pistons in his motor and it runs and drives great every day. i was told they were to hight too but all my friends that actually have them in there motor say theres nothing wrong with them
but they aren't good pistons.. and because a "friend" says their good, doesn't always mean its the correct route for you.
CTR pistons are very..very heavy, they put stress on bearings and the whole rotating assembled, on top of that, they distore the flamefront on the combustion process..

im not just going on what he says, its how his car preforms and it runs strong. its a gsr also, and my other friend has a b20 v that has em in there too and its been running for 2 1/2 years now. all this talk bout theese pistons being sketchy makes me fell sketchy bout putting them in but everyone i know that has them in there motor nothing goes wrong
i know you guys know what your talking about and ive done plenty of research and it seems to me that the ppl that dont have them in there motor are scared to use them even tho theyve never tried them before. im just goin on what ive seen.
yea i know i just wanna hear both sides, well it was kinda tuned he was useing his old tune before he bought the pistons and intake manifold so it was semi tuned i guess but it was the first day it was done and he got it tuned later that night

If I was building a motor to use with a B series trans - it would be a huge H motor.
Best of luck
+1 for losing the PCT pistons. They have a dome so high it cuts the flame travel across the cylinder in half. PR3 or P73o would be a better choice. As far as cams go S2 tuner 2. Or Brian Crower stage 2 NA.
I would also like to add that my brother has a 258whp LS/V and it only has 11.8 cr. B series power is in the head and valvetrain. Airflow is power... compression ratios are just an added variable.
aight thanks, im not looking to do a huge build. what pistons is your brother runing?
Not that I'm saying "Bullsh*t"...
but well, I guess I am.
+2 i would have to see dyno sheets , but i have seen builds in a 1.8 81mm std bore put 246whp on b16 pistons with a built head...true the b series power is in the head
I smell a bullshitter lurking about all these High HP NA B20's LSVs and whatnot.....AHEM!
Anyways OP tuner 2's will suffice. Pro 2's IMO would be for a bit more radical build and less of a DD application. The idle that comes with those pro 2's is siiick though
