2000 Accord coupe will not shut off instantly! HELP
i have a customers 2000 honda accord coupe. we installed a viper alarm system and noticed that when we turn off the car and pull the key out of the ignition, the car runs for a few seconds before turning off. the time is random. sometimes 5 seconds, sometimes 10 seconds. no set time. like it has a turbo timer but it doesn't. im guessing something is wrong with the ignition switched. i checked all the wiring made sure none of the ignition wires were crossed or pinched. NOTHING. everything is fine.
so i talked to the customer and he said he knows about the problem. saids it happens randomly. just wondering if anyone has this problem and if there was ever a solution for it. i googled it and found that there may have been a recall for ignition switches for these models but when i called honda they said it doesn't cover my problem.
any ideas on how to fix this?

My friends had the same problem. He switched the ignition switch and that fixed it. He had to pay for it because honda said the same thing and didnt wanna incur the cost
