Hello Guys, I am looking at purchasing a 1997 Honda Accord special edition from a owner and needed the advice of people on this forum.

The car currently has 150,000 miles on the dash and the owner said she kept up to date with the tune up and oil changes. She said it was riding fine until she parked it last week and wasn't able to turn the car on.

The asking price for the car is $800. The problem with the car is currently doesn't turn on, however it does turn over like it's trying to start which makes me believe it's possibly the fuel pump?

What do you guys think about this deal? Think it's worth getting?

 

Provided everything on it minus it not starting is in great shape - **** yes I think it's worth $800

If it has other issues I probably would pass. Definitely take it to a Honda dealership though and have a "Pre Purchase Inspection" done to it if you're seriously considering it. Cost is usually $70 and they will list EVERYTHING wrong with the car and quote you approximate cost to fix.

Without any other details (if it's getting fuel/spark/etc) it's tough to say what the issue is. Could be a $20 fix, could be more expensive.
