My 91' si is having problems staying running. Randomly the engine will die while im driving, the engine still cranks over just fine but it won't start usually unless the car sits for a little while. I do get a CEL, #15 which doesn't really narrow down my search much. I have recently swapped the Coil and Igniter with known good ones, and it's still having this problem. I am wondering what input you folks have for me. I did google this problem and the remedy was a new distributor for that case. So i guess my main questions are, could it be the magnetic pickup in the dizzy going out? and I have noticed that the distributor gets extremely hot, (yes i know its mounted to the head, but I still think its getting a little hotter than it should) so could that be a problem? Thanks in advance guys!

if you already replaced the coil and ignitor then it might be another part internal inside the dizzy...instead of just throwing parts at it just buy a new one from vatozone or the distributor king...!!!

 

lol i picked one up. now i gotta drive it around and see if it dies again. always seems to lose spark on me in the canyon, so fun!

 

hmmm dies while driving? my 90 dx hatch wouldnt start back up after it got hot, wouldnt die tho..it was the main relay, had to resolder the connections.
