Default Question about the ECU in my '90 Civic Si.

I just realized, amongst all the other things wrong with the car after I got it, that the last owner threw a PR4 ecu in there. I guess this would explain why the car runs a bit rough, and why I'm not seeing any CELs when I know there should be at least 2 popping up.

It is my understanding that I should have the PM6 ECU in there since it's a 90 Civic Si with a d16a6 motor. The only ECUs I have on hand are a P14, a few PR4s, and one PM8 that came out of a '92 CX build I did for a friend, swapped him up to a b18b1. If I remember correctly, his car had a D15B8 in it...but the PM8 ecu I believe is meant for an 88-901 Civic HX.

Anyways, will this PM8 ECU work in my car or should I try to track down a PM6?

Edit : Also, one other un-related question...the distributor on this d16a6 looks exactly like the one off one of my old b18a1 motors. It is broken, and the wiring is kinda messed up...can I use the one from the b18a1 or is there some sort of difference that I'm not seeing in the side-by-side comparison?

it probably runs a bit rough cause its running rich, out of all the computers that you have listed it seams like the pm8 would probably do best. (p14 is for a prelude si, pr4 is for integra gs/ls, pm8 is out of a crx hf)

your other question i honestly dont know but what i would do is get a hold of a parts vendor and ask if those two cars share the same part number

pm8 would just cause it to run a little lean, however if needed the pm8 would suffice as a TEMPORARY

I have a PM6. PM me if you want it. I'll do $45 shipped.

btw, it is also found in EX sedans which is where the ECU came out of. Trying to get my money back for this ECU when I was diagnosing a no start situation. ECU is in good working order. My problem was dizzy related.

TD02U/TD18U 1988-1991 CIVIC/CRX SI

I dont have one but the 2 are interchangeable
