91 crx si service connector not working
Hello can anyone tell me how to fix my service connector? when i put a jumper wire in it under the dash, it will not work It should make the check eng., light come on but it will not. I cant set my timing or anything til i fix this Thanks for any help.
Anyone?? also i have 2 91 crx si's One all org. when i turn the key to on the check eng. light says on till i start the car. and my other thats had b16 and b20 and now dohc zc when i turn the key to on it comes on and goes off like 92-95 does. and its still obd-0 and when i put a jumper wire in the service connector it does nothing. Anyone know whats wrong??
umm im not sure if im right but u only jump 92-95's like that. for 88-91 civics u pull the carpet and locate the ecu and the codes flash through a window on the ecu. actually im 100% sure thats the correct way to retrieve codes
in order to set the timing you have to use a jumper wire on the service connector thats whats not working. I do not have any check eng. light on I just need to set the timing.
yes and no... it is true that your supposed to pull the carpet and check the flash codes but i think every crx ive seen has that service port on the engine harness...nolimitlowrider dont understand why your saying you have to use a jumper wire to set timing. shine a little light on the subject.

i get what you're saying. You might need to go and buy the correct little tool for that jumper, cause it sounds like you are not using the correct tool, or if you are using a little paper clip you might not be getting a correct connection.
Where did you hear that the Check Engine light is supposed to flash?

thats how i think just about every obd0 system works theres whats called a "service port" on the harness. the correct "little tool" is not a paper clip, however any thin gauge wire will do. although vehicles vary most later model obd1 vehicles do require a scan tool.
