Default ZC Engine - Bisi Header - Pump Gas Dyno Tune

Remo brought us his EF Hatch for a Bisimoto Header install, a custom exhaust, and a tune on Crome Gold.

After installing the exhaust components, we got Remo's car on the rollers.

Here is the Setup:

Stock DOHC ZC block
ExoSpeed Stage 3 Cams
ExoSpeed Springs and Retainers

Bisimoto V1 Header
2 1/2" Exhaust
Magnaflow Muffler and Resonator

OBD1 Conversion
Chipped P06 ECU
Tuned on Crome Gold

The Red Chart is the Baseline pull, and the Blue Chart is after our tune.

not bad! better than I was expecting actually. that thing needs an intake so bad! I don't think I would have paid up for a tune without at least a bpi vstack, sri, and some intake manifold (if they even make those for ZC?)

Open her up a raise the compression as well as arp rod bolts. You're making power where those rod bolts tend to give out. :/

TQ is nice and flat.. Nice looking graph for sure for a street car.

I wouldnt worry about replacing the rod bolts. They will do fine. I have made quite a bit more than that on a D with stock rod bolts and have never had an issue with N/A.

Nice numbers remo.

Add more fuel, it'll make more power..after about 4k it seems to start touch the tip of 13.8~13.9 into the 14.0 area..if i'm reading ur dyno correctly. That motor should love the AFR around 13.5 or so.. i think upper 13's is just too lean.

How was the header clearance using the stock rad? I have a Koyo full size and was wondering if the Bisi header would clear.

Well your lucky. Its not the power, its the revs. They're the same rod bolts on LS motors. Weak as ****. Do what you will but I've seen nearly 30 D motors/B18a/b motors spin a bearing due to those exact same rod bolts. And its always d motors with chipped ecus with raised limiters and lsvtec setups using vtec ecus revving to 8k or more on stock bolts.

For those reading this that aren't on other forums, Remo is doing this build in stages as he wants to see the gains (or losses) from each step along the way.

So you mean that I am lucky when torture testing mine ? Launching @8300rpm and shifting @9000 with the stock rods & bolts for 4+ years without failure? Even with 15:1 compression..

As I stated, the stock rod bolts are fine for the HP gains & the daily driving that is going to be done.

So the red graph is STD manifold or untuned pull with Bisi header, its very lean and not really a good back to back test I am not knocking the header as I am going to buy some very soon but this does not really show the true gains.

Holy crap I didn't even know this thread exists. Woo hoo. Thank alot Chris yeah Chris is right I've been trying to see all the gains and lost going from adding a part here and a part there to really see if these after market parts really make a difference.

The only update I can give now is my car has been down cause I'm waiting on a new set of came cause mine were bent and I'm also waiting on Bisi V2 header, plus I'm going to swap in my OBX itbs and a new tranny rebuild ZC 1st-5th, 4.437 FD/OEM LSD.

So we will see.

Um I have a Jimfab traction bar so, yeah I cleared, and I will be installing a dual full size Rad too.

True, true.
What was the gain from the new header and exhaust and the gains from the tune?
I've seen tunes on stock Hondas pick up 10whp. So the header and exhaust might only be 10whp in this case.
