Default rt-615 90% tread circa 2007, not grippy anymore?

i just installed a used set of 90% tread azenis today ( 215-45-16 ). now these replaced my re-01r (circa 2005), i feel that the azenis are not as sticky as the re-01r's, so im kinda worried that the azenis compound has heat cycled too much and lost its grip. is it possible that the azenis will get better as i use it? btw i had these tires stored for over 6 months before i put them on today

I don't think it's because the tires are too old or were in storage. The RT-615 just isn't as sticky a tire as the RE-01R, even when new.

If you want something that's at least as sticky as the RT-615, consider the Bridgestone Potenza RE-11, Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec, Kumho Ecsta XS, Toyo Proxes R1R, or Yokohama Advan Neova AD08. I don't know which of these is available in your market.
