Default DPFI to MPFI and OBD1 Issues

I converted my dads '90 EF 4 door to MPFI and OBD1 to run a D16Z6.

Idles smooth, no CELs. But it has no power and no VTEC. I had the whole swap in my CRX and everything worked excellent before.

Over 3000 RPM it sounds like its labouring hard and it makes a growling sound out of the intake (No its 100% not VTEC, it sounds bad). Timing is set dead on.

My dad said he put a mixture of 30 w and 50 w oil in it which I think is a retarded way to stop oil burning.

It has the stock airbox but opened up a bit and stock exhaust which may be slowing it down compared to the I/H/E set up it had on my CRX.

Imput is apprecieated.

Did you rewire the tps sensor? Its the opposite of mpfi. YOu could be flooring it and it thinks the throttle is closed.

Nope, I got that. It runs great, just slow.

The clogged cat sounds like the problem now. Lots of backpressure is not letting it rev freely and makinf it work hard.
