ive got one broken exhaust manifold stud on my head but was wondering if there is an easy way of extracting it without removing the radiator and stuff. tight spot for a big drill to tap a hole. any help or ideas?

 

can you post a pic. did it break flush with head. or is there some sticking out.
If its flush you will have to drill and tap it. if you can put a nut on it you can weld the nut to the rest of the stud then remove it like normal.

 

its broke off recessed into the head a little bit. i would drill it out and tap it but drilling it is the issue. the drill is too long to use in between the radiator and head. so i was looking for hopefully an easy trick to fit some kind of dril in there

 

use a bolt extractor. and use the lil "T" that comes with the tap and dye set and ull have enough room to work with it

 

but you gotta drill the pilot hole first to use the bolt extractor so it has something to grab right?
