Default 88 sedan help fuse #14

Hey my sedan wouldn't start on me today and left me stranded. I didn't hear my fuel pump kick on or the main relay click. So I changed the relay and it still didn't start. I checked the fuse 14 and it keeps blowing. Any idea on why that would happen? Its been fine for the last 2 months then I changed the fuel pump a few days ago now this happens. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

You have a short somewhere. You're most likely going to have to take the dash out and figure out why it's shorting. Mine did this once and it was a pain, but you have you to trace the + and - wire going to the fuse slot and see where the wire is broken or open to touch metal.

That's kinda what I was thinkin to but if that were the case wouldn't it have happened while I was driving? It was fine then I stopped at the store and went to start it and it just cranked. I got a good fuse in there and it seems ok now I just wanna prevent it from happening agian

so i thought it was all legit then it left me stranded again. this time i was driving and it started to bog down like it wasnt getting fuel then it died. the fuse was blown again so i threw in another one and instantly blew. would a short or pinched wire make it bog down like that?

It was bogging because it was running out of fuel. Find the break or run a new wire with fuse and a fuel cut.

You think it could have anything to do with the new pump? I had no problems with it until a couple days after I had my buddy replace it.

Look its been stated NUMEROUS times already, you have a short somewhere which means you need to get yourself a diagram and start tracing wires. However my bet is on your buddy pinched the wire when he replaced your pump. Stop asking us and get up and outside and start diagnosing your problem, there is not much anyone on the forums can do for you at this point when its been said. "You have a short..."
