Default 88-91 si seat material Question

I have search hi and low from google to yahoo. I cannot find anyone re poping this matterial. so I have a few questions.

Who actualy made the seat? From what I have heard Reacro was choosen for this seat.(correct me if im wrong)

There has got to be somone out there that has this material. If not lets all come together as a group and put some pressure on someone(reacaro, Pasword Jdm, or somebody to produce some parts to repair these awesoeme seats.

Am I alone in this venture????????

Thanks

If your looking for good material, why not just buy some from passenger seats. They often are in good shape and can be reused in many cases on the drivers side if you need some

Honda hires Recaro and a few other companies to make their seats, but i don't think you realize how expensive they cost new. A new Si seat cost like $4000 each, the seat covers from the dealer are still in the hundreds

I live in Canada, they were about 4 years ago, last time i checked. Couldn't tell you if they are now though...BUT.......

Why bother spending money like that fixing old seats, when you can search for a minty used set. I spent a few months searching and did exactly that. Cost me $100 for a pair of jdm 1991 CR-X seats that look brand new

As with most of the trim parts for these cars they are no longer available.

It's a simple call to the dealer to find out. It's worth checking out if options are rare. I've bought loads of new oem crx/civic parts from the dealer......

- rear 1/4 window seals
- sunroof panel & seals
- sunroof liner
- carpeting
- center console
- rear hatch trim
- door shells
- lower rocker finishing panels
- rear area covers upper/lower
- climate control
- belt moldings
- front lip spoiler
- foot rest and trim

and these are just some examples, so don't make everyone think you can no longer buy parts with out checking

I have recently bought all of that stuff as well since I am restoring my 91 CRX (bought the last of some it here in the US). Try to buy interior "a" pillar trim, door weatherstrips, console, seat covers and no one has them.

Nice find, but your case of finding extremely mint seats for $100 is incredibly rare. It's highly unlikely that others would or could find the same deal. I myself have been looking for years. There's usually mint overseas sets on eBay but who wants to pay $400+ for the seats plus another $200+ for shipping? Not I..

Anyway, nice find! But that's an anomaly for sure

you may be interested to know that both Canada and the USA use different wharehouses and we have some parts you can get through dealers down there and vise versa.

You might want to try a dealer here and double check some of those parts. I bought a new console for mine. Here's a crappy pic from my phone, it's brand new from the dealer

if you know the importer, you can pick stuff up for cheap. Sounds like Deetz knows what's up, and/or is pretty lucky

When N1 Concepts used to be in South SF, I picked up a mint set of EG9 seats for $80. Yes, eighty bucks. I rolled around in them for a little bit, and then for some reason I sold them for $300. This dude already had a full EG9 interior but he bought mine because they were nicer and apparently a great deal. That's the only car part I ever regret selling...I've never seen those seats in that condition for less than I sold them for, and they were the comfiest OEM Honda seats I've yet sat in.

the point is: you gotta know somebody or get very lucky. If you don't, expect to pay out the *** for 'rare' parts

We have used imported cars from Japan, but dealer's don't bring in the parts for them. You could check with JDM Source here for a used one

Thanks again for the info. I called the dealer today and they can still get the console and taillights. I could not order the rear cargo compartments or the carpet kit.
